Prayer Ministry Update 2026
With the departure of our Vicar, and if you listened to his uplifting messages about God being in control here, I need to gently remind you how we are proceeding with our four Prayer Ministries. Nothing is changing! Prayer underpins everything relating to life in the church and its individuals.
First of all the Prayer Chain is very active anyway, and please continue to communicate your needs to Ellen, who handles this ministry with such sensitivity and encouragement for us. Every time I open the email from her I feel uplifted and motivated to address the contents in my private prayer time.
The Intercessors Group who have been meeting for four years now, will restart on the first Monday in February (2nd) at 10.30 in the Parish Lounge. I will email this group to flag who is on the devotion section, but if you are a person interested in being part of this team please contact me for a big picture outline.
This brings me on to topics and people for prayer for our Intercessory meetings held twice a month - where previously a lot of our information was supplied by Deo. Any Ministry leaders and Vestry members who may have prayer requests can let Tineke and myself know by email, as I will continue to lead this group. If there are individuals who you know need investment in Intercessory Prayer, please communicate this to us.
Our Prayer Alcove is a special place, sometimes even small miracles result from the faith of those involved. There will always be someone there to pray for you on Sunday during services. We need people for this ministry.
Finally, and with the situation St. Christopher’s family find themselves in again - Vicarless - the need for Corporate Prayer is vital. This is how we got our Vicar Deo, through the earnest efforts of the congregation at the time - in Corporate Prayer. Deo expects I will lead this in the interim, and this is the 4th Saturday afternoon in the month. I will remind you closer to the meeting of date and time.
Please be prayerful about the prayer ministry role God may be calling you to be involved with this year.
