In Loving Memory of Gloria Lewis

Dear Church Family

It is with both sadness and hope in Christ that I write to let you know that Gloria Lewis, a long-time and faithful member of our church, went home to be with the Lord yesterday. She passed away peacefully in her room at Redwood Rest Home, surrounded by her family, and shortly after I had the privilege of praying over her and anointing her with oil.

Gloria was a woman of deep faith and loving service. Over the years, she served the Lord wholeheartedly in many roles at St Christopher’s. She was a member of Vestry, led the pastoral care ministry, participated in the prayer chain, supported home groups, was active in AAW, and for many years was part of the Order of St Luke. Gloria had a warm and welcoming spirit, especially toward newcomers, and she leaves behind a legacy of loving service and devotion to Christ.

We give thanks to the Lord for Gloria’s life and her example of faith. Those of us who knew her will miss her dearly, yet we take comfort in knowing she is now at home with Jesus – the One she loved and served so faithfully.

Please keep John and the family in your prayers during this time.

A service to celebrate Gloria’s life will be held on Monday, 11 August at 1.30 PM, here at St Christopher’s Church. I encourage you to come and support John and the family as we give thanks to God for Gloria’s life.

With love in Christ
