God at Work: Healing Service at St Christopher’s

Last Saturday, St Christopher’s Church, together with the Order of St Luke, held a public Healing Service that drew a congregation of around 40–50 people. It was an evening marked by fellowship, heartfelt worship, and the evident presence of God.

The service began with afternoon tea, where tables were filled with good food and lively conversations. Many expressed how much they valued the opportunity to connect and share in fellowship before the service began. We are grateful to all who brought a plate and served so generously.

As the service started, the atmosphere was one of calm and reverence. The songs lifted hearts in worship, preparing the way for the ministry that followed. Patricia McEldowny shared a moving personal testimony that touched many deeply, and we are thankful for her courage and openness in sharing her story.

The message, delivered by the Rev Robin Kingston, was both powerful and anointed. Rather than focusing on dramatic or instantaneous healings, Robin drew our attention to the often-overlooked ministry of inner healing – the healing of memories and the importance of forgiveness. His teaching dovetailed beautifully with Patricia’s testimony, reminding us that true discipleship involves allowing God to heal our past hurts and set us free from unforgiveness.

During the Prayer Ministry time, several people came forward for prayer. One person specifically sought prayer for healing from past hurts, forgiveness, and release from anxiety – a direct reflection of the evening’s theme. Another asked prayer for ongoing health issues. Because there was no long queue, prayer ministers were able to give extended time and care to each person. We trust that all who received prayer experienced God’s love in meaningful ways.

We are deeply thankful to all who helped make the service possible – those who prepared food, led worship, shared testimony, preached, served in prayer ministry, and everyone who came with open hearts. May the Lord continue to bring healing, strength, and joy to all who were part of this special evening.
