Easter Messy Church 2025: A Colourful Celebration of Christ’s Love
What a joyful morning it was!
Our Easter Messy Church event, held on Thursday, April 17th, 2025, from 10:00am to 12:00noon in the Parish Hall, was a wonderful success – filled with faith, fun, and fellowship. We welcomed 20 children and 15 adults, including 9 newcomers to our church family. We had prayed for a manageable number, and the Lord graciously answered that prayer.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Amazing Team
This event would not have been possible without our dedicated volunteers. Thank you for your creativity, kindness, and servant hearts:
Games: Mark Rolston
Crafts: Susanne Palmer, Ellen Anderson, and Cheryl Nevill
Music: Beth Timpson
Photography: Gerald Satherley
Food & Bible Story: Samantha Swafford, our Children and Families Worker
Data Management: Gabriella Reidie
A special thanks to Samantha for stepping in to coordinate the food and for leading the Bible story so beautifully!
Crafts That Told the Easter Story
Our young participants got hands-on with three Easter-themed crafts:
Cellophane Cross – a bright reminder of Christ’s victory
Chocolate Nest – a sweet symbol of new life
3D Easter Egg Hunt – bringing joy to curious hearts
Songs of Praise and Wonder
The music was lively and engaging, and everyone joined in with joyful voices! We sang:
Tēnā Koe (Welcome Song)
He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands
God’s Love Is So Wonderful
Praise Him, Praise Him
Jesus Loves Me This I Know
Fellowship and Fun
Children and adults alike enjoyed the games, crafts, music, food, and most importantly, the sense of community and shared celebration of Easter. It was a beautiful expression of the love and hope we have in Jesus Christ.
Looking Ahead
Our next Messy Church will be on June 15th, 2025. There will not be a special Messy Church during the upcoming school holidays.
We recognise the growing desire to increase the frequency of Messy Church gatherings. While our current team can manage four gatherings per year (once per term), we remain prayerful and hopeful that more volunteers will come forward. With more hands, we can dream of expanding this vibrant ministry to reach even more families.
Thank you again to everyone who participated, served, prayed, and supported this event. May the joy of the resurrection continue to fill your hearts.
