Update from the Wardens

Dear Church Family,

As you know, our Vicar, Deo, has resigned, and the process of seeking a new minister for St Christopher’s will now begin. The vacancy will be advertised online within the next couple of weeks and circulated widely throughout the country. As this information goes out, we trust that applications from suitable candidates will be received, and in due course interviews will take place. We pray that, through this process, the Lord will guide the right person to us in His perfect timing.

Because this process may take several months, the Diocese is making arrangements to appoint an interim minister who will serve here after Deo finishes in January and while the search continues. We believe that God is with us, and that this time of transition is firmly in His hands.

The Ven. Simon Martin, the Bishop’s Chaplain and Vicar General, has prepared a brief video message for us, to explain the process. You can watch it by clicking on this link, or copying and pasting the link:

Let us now take a moment to pray for the transition that is upon us.

Gracious God,
We thank You that the church belongs to Christ and that You faithfully guide Your people in every season. As we begin the search for a new minister, grant wisdom to all involved, and in Your perfect timing lead the right person to St Christopher’s.

Keep our church family centred on Jesus, steadfast in faith, and united in love throughout this time of transition. May Your Spirit give us patience, peace, and a deep confidence that You are at work among us.

We also lift before You Deo, Guan, Angela, and Nathan. As they wind down their ministry here and prepare for their move to Adelaide, surround them with Your grace, provide for their needs, and bless them with Your peace.

We entrust all these things into Your loving hands, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
