Vicar's Christmas Message

Dear Friends

‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day … a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.’ (Luke 2:10–11)

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas, we are invited to hear anew the good news brought by the angel to the shepherds keeping watch over their flocks at night. God loves us so much that He became one of us, born in Bethlehem so many years ago and yet still being born into our hearts today.

The great joy of Christmas is in receiving God’s gift of salvation in Jesus Christ, and like the angel and the shepherds that first Christmas night, joyfully sharing the good news of Jesus with the world around us. The greatest gift of Christmas can neither be purchased nor earned; it can only be received by a humble, child-like heart.

I invite you to join with us for our Christmas services this Sunday evening and Monday morning as we celebrate the birth of Christ. Encourage family and friends to join you at St Christophers this Christmas, so that their hearts, too, might receive the gift of Jesus. May God richly bless you as you take time to ponder the wonder of Immanuel, God with us, Jesus our Saviour.

Guan, Angela and Nathan join me in wishing you and yours a joyful and blessed Christmas and New Year!

God bless

Deo
